David & Claire - Casa Chilango
We are David and Claire and three (now grown up) daughters. We wish you a very warm welcome to our almost-year-round- home (our summers are spent in the UK).
Through a happy set of coincidences, in 2008 we found ourselves in Javea for a long weekend; and with some recently acquired Spanish language skills (we were living in Mexico at the time).
To cut a long story short, a few weeks later we became the proud owners of a 110 sq metre ‘lock up and leave’ 1970’s holiday villa - 3 small bedrooms and an even smaller bathroom and galley kitchen.
Almost 15 years later, the house has more than doubled in size and now boasts a pool, two sitting rooms; an outside kitchen; and enlarged bedrooms, all with air con and en-suite bathrooms.
It’s been great fun managing the transformation - the photo album in the upstairs sitting room documents the journey. But of course, there’s always more to do.
We hope you will enjoy your time at Chilango - which is Mexican slang for the residents of Mexico City. We certainly do.
